Description

Grey coloured limestone, with thin to medium grain and non-uniform background. This limestone is mostly characterized by the presence of strong signs of fossils with darker colour, sparsely distributed throughout the stone surface. It may present some grey colour variations as well.

The Jura Grey is a reference beige coloured limestone from Germany, with considerable hardness. Its main variations depend mostly on the more or less abundance of dark coloured fossils, as well as background uniformity.

This limestone is also available on beige colour and grey mixed with blue.

Location

The Jura limestone is extracted in Germany, by several quarries with considerable dimension. The main extraction area is located around Titting-Kaldorf, which is located in the upper Bavaria region.

The Titting-Kaldorf area is located at some 130 kilometres north of Munich and at some 500 kilometres southwest of Berlin.
